study-ING

On Sunday night our group met to do some studying as a group. We met at Carrier Library at 7:30 and were there till about 9. While there we helped each other on problems we had on some of our work. Before we all left for the night we discussed a little bit about who was going to work on what part of our speech. Having natural disasters as our topic we were able to choose from a variety of options. At the end of the meeting we decided to set up our next one after class on thursday. For thursday we are all suppose to have started to gather some info. and do our next -ING.

schedul-ING & conduct-ING

We met at Festival for dinner and got to work on writing our group schedule and code of conduct. Due to illness, James was unable to make it to our meeting. Despite his absence, we still got the work done. After everyone got their food, we started discussing our schedules to so that we could make a group schedule that had no conflicts. Afterwards we discussed our code of conduct and what the consequences for violating it would be. After we came to an agreement, we were done for the night. Later we held another meeting with James to fill him in on what he had missed (we filled him in at our group meal at Chik-fil-a). We compared his schedule with the group's so we could make the necessary changes to it. We also discussed the code of conduct with him to get his input on it. We also assigned the responsibilities for each person so everyone would be pulling their weight in this project to make it successful.

eat-ING

We met for breakfast at Chik-fil-a after class one day. Well, Ali and Karissa grabbed some Einstein Bagels (the pumpkin muffin was delicious), but everyone actually ate in Chik-fil-a. It was a pretty successful meeting. We were able to add some finishing touches to the code of conduct, and to clarify the scheduling and tasks that had to be done at each meeting. We had to fill James in, because he was sick and missed our initial business meeting at Festival. We established who was to do what for the portion of the project that is due in 2 days. We picked one person per blog (just 3 people for the ones to be done by Thursday), and designated one person to type the code of conduct and schedule. All in all, after this meeting, we now have a clearer picture of what we have to do by when. We are also more familiar with each other. We spent some time "chit-chatting" and getting to know one another. Ali filled everyone in on her rushing experience, Kevin and James talked about sports and their turf-burns on their knees, Taylor shared his love for marching band, and Karissa talked about her delicious pumpkin bagel and her hatred towards Chik-fil-a.

our initial meet-ING

Once assigned our groups for the project the 5 of us decided to meet up at PC Dukes for some food, and bonding time to get associated with one another. At this meet-ING we discussed how we wanted to go about working on the -ING's and bouncing ideas back and fourth. The highlight of our initial meeting was the extreme awkwardness of asking someone random to take a picture of us. Overall our first meeting together was a success, and once we all got over the awkward yet funny silence the meeting went smoothly. Our next meeting for our meal was planned at Festival for 7 o'clock to make sure everyone was able to make it.
